Oh my GOD.
How do I have the best blog commenters in the world? I just read through your comments on my last post and literally teared up because you're so amazing.
I feel like YouTube is this big scary world where anyone can come in and say what they like, mean or nice, but you guys over here are this tiny little microcosm of some of the most amazing people I have ever heard from.
So, thank you. Thank you for being the most wonderful people I've never met, and thanks for CONSTANTLY reminding me not to let little things get me down, because there are so many of you who just - gah - you just make everyone else seem so insignificant.
And thanks for making me cry in a public location, haha.
Friends is playing on the TV here in the Dome. At 9:30 in the morning. I love this country. You guys are OBSESSED with Friends.
Yesterday was probably the first really good day I've had in a week.
Emma came to my campus and picked me up (I know gas - excuse me, petrol - costs a fortune but I love driving around in her little car) and we drove to Rosi's house. Rosi took us to Nando's and gave us a tour of her town (so much history! I'm jealous! Shakespeare! And the set of Finding Neverland! And pretty places to sit by the water where we watched the sun go down!) and in general it felt so, so nice to be around people who know me and I wasn't meeting for the first time and I just felt comfortable.
She took us to this really fun, sort of modern colorful bar (I dont know what to call it. A bar? It wasn't a pub, because pubs in my eye are dark and kind of dingy - whatever, it was called Revolution, and it was essentially a Vodka place) and we had a BLAST. Rosi and I bought drinks with silly names (Strawberry Woo Woo and Pretty Pretty Bang Bang) and we talked and shared brownies that were too expensive and then this guy came up to play live music, and he played the perfect mix of depressing music and feel good music so we laughed and cried and sang along and I wish I could spend the whole rest of my trip with these girls.
They were depressed because they both just got back from a long trip in America, and I have this overwhelming urge to be smothered in the love of my Wizard Rock friends, so when they guy started playing the California-y theme from the OC, we were all a mess. Hahah.
It was so much fun. This is why I came to London. This is the kind of time I am supposed to be having.
Today I leave for Edinburgh and I MISS EIA AHHHHH I GET TO SEE HER TONIGHT.
We don't do well being apart after living together for 10 months or so (how long has it been now? Since last September... oh wow, almost a year.)
Okay, I have a million more emails to write and class in 25 minutes, that is all for nooow.
Edit: Oh yeah oh yeah - I couldn't WAIT to tell you guys this. Yesterday when Emma and I were driving, I saw an old woman (probably about 75) walking her dog... in a stroller. The dog was IN THE STROLLER. I don't see what either party was getting out of this endeavor. London is amazing.

hey kristina ! just wanted to say that your blogs are so interesting to read. You're a lovely person and I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in England.
much love

It's not everyone who's obsessed with Friends, its just Channel 4 :P
I'm glad you're feeling better and hope you have a great time in Edinburgh, seeing Eia and all that.
Have fun,
Natalie.
Hey, we're not all obsessed with Friends, it's just always on! Blame Channel 4, lol.
Glad your stay is picking up, and I hope you have lots of fun in Edinburgh. :)
Ahh, that entry made me tear up a bit. As everybody else said, I'm glad you're having a nice time and one day, I hope to be able to travel and gather experiences too!
The Edit was brilliant. A dog in the stroller? I somehow thought, what if the dog needs to urinate/ excrete some faeces? There can't possibly be a way for it to communicate this to the old lady? lol XD
Hey Kristina :) I've only started reading your blog recently, but I think it's one of the most interesting, well-written and honest blogs I've come across, so thank you for writing it :)
As for whatever it is that's getting you down, I totally respect you for waiting until you're ready to say more, and it's ok even if you never tell us the whole story. Anyways, hope your trip carries on becoming more fun :) xxx
Yeah when I was working once a woman brought in a pram that had a dog in it- a little bit weird.
When you go to Edinburgh you need to go see a show or something cos the festival is on! It's such a pretty city I'm sure you'll have loads of fun
And a word of advice, always remember it's pronounced Eh-din-bruh not Eh-din-boro or Edin-burg which are some of the names I've heard Americans call it. But I'm sure you knew that because you're awesome!

A dog in a stroller? haha
Oh my, I love Nandos and Revs. Though last time I went to a Vodka Revs my friend made me do chilli then a porridge shot... never do a porridge shot, absolutely revolting- has oats in it and tastes like sick. I almost threw up!
I want the day you had, it sounds so great :) enjoy edinburgh, ive never been but have always wanted to.
Chin up Kristina, and enjoy yourself :) xxxx
Im actually really, really happy that you're having fun again.
As Natalie said, Its just Channel4 and E4 that are obsessed with F.R.I.E.N.D.S but its is an awesome programme.
Im glad you had fun with Rosi and Emma (Btw, does Emma have a youtube channel? I feel like im missing out on some awesomeness), They both seem so lovely.
Hmmm...a Dog in a Stroller? Im pretty sure Ive seen that before. People are strange.
Have a brilliant time in Edinburgh with Eia and Liam.
Freya. X
Pretty Pretty Bang Bang sounds awesome, as well as Stroller Dog lol! When I was little I used to dress my kitty up and push her around the house in one of my dolly strollers, but I don't know if I'd do it in public. Nah, I might. You should try it, it's fun. ;P
Glad you're having a good time over here on this side of the pond. I love reading your blog and living vicariously through you because I really haven't done much this summer...
And yes, people are crazy. I once saw a woman trying to teach her cat how to ride a tricycle. I wish I was joking, but I'm not
=D
Glad you had a good day! Hope everyday is a good day from now on.
A dog in a stroller... nice...
they are obsessed with friends.
I was there when the series finally was aired and the whole country was going nuts. the only thing on TV was big brother and commercials for the final friends episode.
But... but... we love Friends! Yeah, it's mainly channel 4, and E4 just repeats all the series >.<
Anyways, hope you have a good time in Edinburgh, and you should definitely catch some shows! If you have time, pop into my work (Pleasance Dome) and I'll make you a freebie cocktail :)
I really miss London. I'm glad you're having a great time abroad. Have a lunch at Pret A Manger for me please?
I'm so glad you're having fun. You totally deserve it. :)
This was such an mood enhancing read.
I prescribe liberal applications of Rosi daily to cure all that ales ye. :D
Glad to hear your trip is picking up and don't forget to find why every day is awesome, but I know you don't need to be told that!
Hahah, dog in a stroller? Oh my!
I'm happy that you had a great time with Emma and Rosi! I know this is weird for me to say, because I don't ACTUALLY know you, but I get so emotional as I read your blog. I feel like you're my best friend, and when you're down, I feel sad as well. Like, I literally teared up when I read your last blog. I know that is kind of silly of me...but I feel for people.
I hope your trip gets better, why don't you hang out with Rosi and Emma and such a bit more?
:)

Incidentally, that's how I became obsessed with Friends. Spending 3 weeks in Wales with my grandparents watching it everyday can do things to you.
Friends is nice because there's not a bad episode, so there's never a bad time to watch it.
Dogs in strollers. It's the next big thing!
FRIENDS is just so... I can always, ALWAYS trust on FRIENDS to cheer me up. No matter how many times you watch a certain episode, it never gets old. When I'm sad, I know what to do. And it works, it really does. You get all warm and fuzzy inside when you watch FRIENDS when you're feeling down :) It's a wonderful pick me up.
I think you can see how much I love the series by what I just wrote. xD
Hope you have an amazing time in Edinburgh! You'll be with Eia so I'm sure it'll be better :D <33
Ahh, I've been trying to comment for AGES and my internet keeps shutting down xD So now I'm stealing the neighbor's wireless, hehehe (sneaky laughter).
Yaay, happy blog =D Feels good to be appreciated_ you know, us being tiny people who live inside your computer and only exteriorize our existence through blog comments =DD
Haha whenever my american friends confront me with how much cool stuff, like conventions and all, you guys have over there, HISTORY is what I usually throw in their faces... Europe rules =)
It's awesome that you're having more fun in England :) I'm glad you're cheering up again!
Wow, that's what I love about Europe. It has so much history that goes so far back, something that's pretty unimaginable for the US, because it's a lot younger.
Edinburgh! :O try to find JK Rowling's house?
Excuse me? A dog in a what now?
That sounds like insanity to me, and also just exactly the quirks that I love about England.
<3
A dog in a stroller? I live in Canada and today was the first time I saw a dog in a stroller? Two little kids passed by my house with their lab in a baby stroller and I burst out laughing! In the dogs defense it could have a sore leg.. but other than that reason, I think the little kids were just making the dog play baby!
Sounds like you are having an interesting experience! Hope you enjoy England better! Going to England seems like a dream :)

i know this entry is old, but i HAD to comment. i'm still going through random episodes of horrible withdrawal from my year in england and your mention of vodka revolution made me unexpectedly tear up. cherish your time there, because despite the shit that may be tainting it, you will, for the most part, miss it terribly when you've left.
Ok, I know this comment is a year late :L But I am just catching up on your blog! I'm really enjoying it so far :)
I just read that you went to Revolution! I live in Plymouth, UK and it's has a Revs. Revs is the most lively place to go out :L It's called a club :)
Anyway, loving the blog, hopefully will catch up to August 2010 soon haha
