Chipotle and Sim people.

I wasn't going to blog tonight, because it's late and I'm tired, but then I found this video and I just had to say something about it. I have no idea who any of these girls are, but they made me a video being cute and sending me well wishes when they didn't even know what was wrong with me, and everything about the video is just adorable and cuddly and wonderful.

Sometimes I really love the Internet.

Speaking of loving the Internet... for some reason, out of nowhere, after 3 weeks of battling lack of wifi and having to walk with my computer over to the Dome to check email.... suddenly tonight i turned on my laptop and there it was - a signal.

SO I AM LYING IN MY BED AT MY FLAT ON CAMPUS AND NOW I WISH MY COURSE WAS A MONTH LONGER. xD

No, I am definitely glad the school part of this trip is drawing to a close. Even though I did bond with one of my flatmates tonight over how stupid boys can be - turns out she was dating a boy that is here with us on the trip (I had no idea) and he dumped her before the trip even began, so it's been awkward and bad and not what she expected and I am just so sick of boys being so TYPICAL like this.

In other news, Eia and I just power-planned more trip stuff via skype (Dublin Sep 2-4, then ROME! Nothing is set in stone yet after that but we're working on it) and I should probably go to bed soon because we have the war museum tomorrow but I am so excited about this wifi that I can't help but stay online a bit longer. I really like that I talk in complete run-on sentences when I am excited.

I found out today that Jerry is coming to Summer in the City and that made me very happy, 1. because one afternoon was not enough time with my dear friend jerryhcooke and 2. I'm still incredibly nervous to attend and to be in the same place as Alex and to generally not know how I am going to handle that situation. Also, I always seem to forget to give Jerry shoutouts when he deserves them, so there you go, whiner-face.

There were a lot of little anecdotes I wanted to remember to write about today but they've all slipped my mind. I suppose a play-by-play will have to suffice. After class, a bunch of us went to Brick Lane and wandered around, and then (even though I'd seen it before) I went with my friends Rowena, Nikki and Lauren to Big Ben and the London Eye. Then we went to the Tower of London and admired the castle, and took pictures in front of London Bridge. Proper tourists. :) We were going to continue walking toward the bridge but then some police officers ushered us back the way we came because of an "incident", but when we'd made it back to the Tower of London, they'd shut the gate. I remember telling my friends that I felt like a Sim, trapped in an enclosed space and not knowing where to go, because everyone was just kind of wandering aimlessly but not actually saying anything because we were all clearly trapped but no one knew what to do about it and no one wanted to speak up.
Finally they let us out. xD

We took the trains home and now we're right back where we started - in my room with the GLORIOUS WIFI.

Also - I need to look into this, but I heard from someone that they're opening a Chipotle in London -- in SEPTEMBER? That potentially means while I am still here. In fact - two points to the first person to verify or disprove that in the comments. I have a craving.

This whole blog entry was utterly pointless. I'm going to bed.

Days until I leave: 31
Times I've had Indian food: 9 <-- I was at BRICK LANE, come on.

Make the most of your time remaining in London. While this trip, when you look back on it, will always be defined by the breakup with the boy, you are already going about the process of making memories that have nothing to do with him. May those be the memories you cherish of the UK, and carry with you for the rest of your life.

I know nothing about you other than what I have gleaned from 5AG, your youtube channel, and your blog, but I can say this much. You are an amazing, intelligent, beautiful person who deserves (and will attain!) a life full of rich and happy experiences. Any boy who cannot see that deserves no further mention. :)

I've never had Chipotle. To be fair I hate burritos... do they have other stuff besides burritos? I just HATE beans.

And I'm not gonna lie I teared up a little at that video. Stupid PMS!

That video is so lovely.
It sounds like you've got an exciting month coming up. I'm probably going to be living through you completely when you're in Dublin. My school has a summer program there that I'm really interested in, so it'll be fun to hear a bit about it from you. =]

I'm sure you hate hearing the phrase "i know how you're feeling" but i too am recovering from the break up of a serious relationship. Its been a few months and its still hard sometimes but its surprising how much better i am. Distance, no contact and getting angry helped the most. Good luck with the healing process. Sending electronic hugs!

Don't let Alex ruin your trip to London, I'm glad you're out having fun, some boy isn't worth all this pain. You don't deserve any of this pain from him..

Oooh, that video is super cute! How nice of them to do that for you :)

Wow, that's convinient. I'm speaking generally so that statement blankets a couple things you talked about, but I'll just talk about the wifi. three weeks there and the wifi finally comes on. Gah, that's frustrating! :) But now I guess you can just surf freely~!

Rome!??! That's awesome! That's....incredible. I have no words.

That's basically it.
You just can't live with them.

If Chipotle is going to England, it should move on down the commonwealth and come to Canada. I want to try this magical food!

Cheers, love.

Ooh! Rome! Number 1 place to go has to be the collosseum - it is fabulously awesome and you will feel like Russell Crowe. Number 2 place is the church of bones in Barberini. Fabulously macabre with altars made from the skulls and bones of dead monks. Number 3 place is the vatican. Whatever people feel about religion the sheer scale and beauty of St. Peter's is fabulously amazing. For food try La Scaleta off Piazza Navona - fabulously delicious and within walking distance of the trevi fountain and the spanish steps. Also if you get a chance, the Pantheon is pretty awesome too!

Yay, wifi!
I understand that Sitc might be awkward with all this, but I am sure you can 'hide' with a few of those 400 people coming. I'd be happy to help. ^^,
I think you already *know* Shannon so this isn't terribly odd of me to say.

I hope this week is good, and then I'll see you Saturday ^^,

I tried and couldn't find anything but the announcement that Chipotle plans to open a location in London by the end of the year. And then I found a Chipotle burrito calorie calculator site. I would link you to that, but I do not want to risk destroying the pure beauty of the Chipotle burrito for you, too. [:

You're coming to Dublin?!? Dude I live there! How did I miss this before...

Wait just realised how stalkerish that sounded never mind!:P

I'm so happy for you that you're having a good time again. If you want some ideas of where to go in Dublin I'd have to say Stephens Green Park (providing it's not raining), Kildare street (if you like museums and whatnot), The Zoo (a personal favourite!) and make sure to check out the people busking on Grafton Street (they are my favourite part of Dublin). If you need anymore advice or anything just ask!

Wow, I hope you get to go to Rome! I've been in Milan (amazing) but never in Rome, it's definitely something that's on my list!
They sent me an invite to make that video too hehe but since I kind of already suspected the source of your sadness, I didn't want to push it xD You know, rub salt into an open sore, that type of thing! It is adoorable though!!
I have no idea what 'chipotle' or whatever you wrote is. Is that an american food place?
Lots of portuguese <3 to you.

The SiTC situation is tough, but it seems like you will have lots of friends to support you and help you through. Remember that you are there to have fun and see the people who have been good to you, so anyone else should not really feature. I hope it all goes well for you, and I wish I could come. :)
Now that school is nearly over, I hope you have fun on the rest of your trip, and especially in Rome, it's amazing.
Stay strong, I have never spoken to you, but like so many others I know how great you are.
cheers love, have fun

SiTC should be fun. There will be tons of things to do and plenty of people to draw you away from the obvious. I really hope you can make it to Rome. I would love to hear about it and I'm sure you will find some sort of adventure; you always seem to. Enjoy the free part of your summer.

Cheers love <3

I've never heard of Chipotle, but it sounds good.:)
Hope SitC is lots of fun, and not too awkward. It sounds like they'll be a lot of people there, so it'll hopefully be easier to avoid each other.
Dublin is one of my favourite places on earth :) Have an amazing time!

um, excuse my english-ness, but, what is a chipotle?

This is only yet another one of those comments from someone you don't know who feels (without you having a clue) that all those years of never-ending English glossories and the third person s-rule were worth it to be able to understand what you write. Just wanted to say thank you for that. Have fun at SitC, I wish you all the best. <3

I just got back from a study abroad in Dublin! It. is. amazing. Probably one of my favorite places on Earth.

If you're looking for things to do, St. Stephen's Green is beautiful, and we had a really good time on a pub crawl. If you're looking at nightlife, we LOVED the Purty Kitchen, in the Temple Bar area.

My favorite, favorite place in Ireland was in Galway, the Cliffs of Moher. Talk about incredible! It's quite a drive from Dublin, but if you have the time, it's definitely worth it!

cheekygirl said...

Kate is right - the Cliffs of Moher are AWESOME!! Made a school trip to Irland, spend some days in Dublin, but actually I was kind of disappointed... the countryside (we stayed at Spanish Point) is much prettier than the capitol!!
soooo jealous, want to be back there...
Have a wonderful time :)
