So even though I have a million other things to do, I have been working through editing my novel.
I have thus far gotten through chapters 1-6, which puts me about 1/5 done.
I hate to sound arrogant or anything, but sometimes when reading through my own writing, it sometimes makes me crack up... I mean, there are obviously plot holes and things lacking development and general problems with it too... but when push comes to shove, I am proud of myself for not only writing an entire novel in 30 days, but actually managing to be a little funny, as well.
I thought I would share two of my favorite lines so far:
"I was still sore at him, but a smart girl never turns down free candy from a stranger. Wait. That’s definitely not how the phrase goes."
“This is going to be awesome!” Riley was already bouncing up and down. “Wait,” he said, pausing. He untied his wind breaker from around his waist and tied the arms right around his forehead. He looked like a cross between a terrible ninja and a kid with a jacket on his head. “Now I’m ready.”
Maybe someday I will actually be okay enough with this story to show it to people. ^_^

When I read old entries of my LiveJournal, especially the ones from high school, I'm always surprised that I end up laughing through a lot of them. ^_^
