Gaaah I loved it.
I have to work early tomorrow and I SHOULD be sleeping, but I figured it better I try and capture this moment or something.
I loved Draco.
God I love Draco.
I loved Slughorn and Mclaggen and Lavender and all the new characters. I loved Luna. I loved the cave scene. I loved the Narcissa/Bellatrix/Snape scene.
I even loved the lack of plot until the very end, but that wasn't the movie's fault. The book is exactly the same.
I even liked the Ron and Hermione stuff. It was cute.
I will never be a fan of Harry and Ginny though. Especially weird Room of Requirement seductive Ginny. What.
I've never been a particularly hard fan to please, and I am way less critical than most people.
I had this moment when I got a chill in the cave scene - I had a very vivid flashback to me in high school, sitting in my room reading the 6th book the day it came out and thinking "I can't WAIT to see this cave scene in a film. It's going to be awesome."
I don't have much else to say about the movie, because it's late and I haven't had had enough time to process everything and I need to see it about two more times, but I am incredibly happy with it. I dressed up. XD
I think one of my favorite parts was when young Tom looks up at Dumbledore and asks, "You're the Doctor, aren't you?" Hahha.
One anecdote from the evening -- Liz and I went to Starbucks with Kayley, and we each got a drink AND a cup of ice water. We went outside with our plethora of drinks and found a nice table to sit at, right in the glow of a Jamba Juice. Liz and I, at nearly the same time, looked at our drinks in dismay and said, "I want Jamba Juice!"
After a few minutes Liz said, "I don't even know why I got iced chai. I want passion iced tea."
I nodded in agreement. "I know what you mean. I got stupid passion iced tea and what I really wanted was chai."
A second later we realized what opportunity the universe had presented us and we switched and everyone happy.
PS. Thank you to everyone who left incredibly nice comments on my last post.
You have no idea how much your words really help. I like youtube comments and deviantart comments and twitter @replies, but nothing is better and honestly more touching than some of your blog comments. I really like you guys. :)

I've been reading what everyone thinks of the movie, and I really wanna see it now. And now I want a chai.... Ha ha.
It only premieres here in Portugal tomorrow :( Lots of people are saying it's the best ever, I felt that way when I watched the trailers, I hope they're right! GOD I WANT TO SEE THAT MOVIE IT'S ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT. There, I got it out.
I dressed up too! I was one of the few at my theatre who did. I was Luna, and a very good one as well, if I do say so myself (complete with real radish earrings and cork necklace).
And I agree, I think it was good, but I really do have to see it a couple more times to really know.
I have mixed feelings about the movie. On one hand I absolutely loved it and that I never laughed so hard during a HP movie ever. But on the other hand I didn't like that half of the plot was cut out. We never got the "Half-Blood Prince" feel except for the 1 second "I am the Half Blood Prince" confession. It needed more Snape.Other than the fact the climax went way to fast I loved it. It lacked a bit to me but I loved it.
Lavender is batshit crazy and she was a bight spot in the film. I'll never be a Harry and Ginny fan, nor will I be a Hermione and Ron fan. So I was very happy with the Harry and Hermione moments. I know its not canon but I love them!
Cormac was a lovely addition and might I add great to look at!
Tom Felton. BLEW ME AWAY. Good lord. I finally felt for Draco just by his facial expressions.
All in all a really great film that lacked a bit for me. But I can't complain. I waited 8 months. Now I have to wait even longer for DH!
I CAN'T SEE IT UNTIL THE WEEKEND.
I was going to go today, but I went to my nana's ):
I flipped on my friend Daniel quite a few times, because he kept going on about it coming out and going to see it today, but he refuses to read the books x[
*shoves fingers in ears* LALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!
Wait... I already know how it ends :P I'm seeing HBP on Friday in Seattle after the mini gathering and I'm really excited!
Even though I'm always disappointed with the movies at first, I'll inevitably go back and see it a second time and love it.
See you soon!
(My captcha code is sessies, which for some reason reminds my of snakes.)
All of my nerdfighting and Harry Potter fanatic friends loved the movie, and I'm going to see it tonight, hopefully. So, I absolutely can't wait. I was going to dress up to work today in a shirt with a hufflepuff tie painted on it, but I decided against it since it would have been too cold for me :(
But it won't be when I'm int he theatres!
I wish there was a Jambo Juice around me. I'm curious.
Glad you liked the movie!
You're right, I haven't been a fan of Harry and Ginny either...hermm...but I'm going to HBP TONIGHT.
From all the footage I've seen scattered across the Internet it looks insanely good. (Also glad to know that the cave scene's well-done.) DFTBA
I'm seeing it tomorrow!!!
Me and my friends are all going dressed as HP characters and all in black for the death of Dumbledore :P
I'm Mad Eye, as I'm on crutches and it kind of fits.
I seriously cannot wait. I'm so jealous that you've already seein it :)
The movie really was amazing. All the acting was really good. Especially Tom Felton. *swoon* he was great. I didn't dress up, but I did see a Snape and a Bellatrix.
You've made me want to see it even more than I already do. Hopefully tonight I'll be able to see it. I don't want to wait until the weekend!
This might sound like an odd question. But watching the film, how did it feel for you knowing the eventual outcome for the characters. Especially with Snape? For me, it felt different. I don't know if it is good or bad different. It just felt odd, knowing the ending of the series and everything to do with Snape and Dumbledore.
I really enjoyed this movie and want to see it again. I loved Draco as well. He made this book, and movie, what it is and I am glad that they did not diminish his role.
I dressed up too! I was Hermione. My friends dressed up as Rita, Fudge, Michael Corner, and Rowena Ravenclaw. It was amazing :o)
Even I loved Draco in this one, and I was inwardly squeeing at Harry and Ginny (because I'm soft like that xD)! He is pretty hot, I have to admit. *straightens blue-striped tie*
I loved the film too!! and adored Draco, especially when he was all scared. Sad there was no battle in hogwarts or a proper funeral, but I loved the old school potter bits, with lots of jokes, wizard wheezes, quidditch, romance, potions lessons, etc.
Really want to see it again. HBP is one of my favourite HP books along with CoS, which tend to be unusual favourite choices.
Listening to Draco by RiddleTM atm, fits perfectly just after the film :)
Lots of love to you, hope the Alex hole doesnt feel too big. xxx
I've used up my own Potter film thoughts all over the internet already but I have to add:
Draco is just FANTASTIC.
There is something tangible about his perfected character. A=Seemingly an antithesis yet equally as forced into a path as Harry is, and it's all family in the end.
Too many thoughts and it's passed midnight.
(p.s. I dressed up as Bella even though I'm a Ravenclaw and painted a Dark Mark on my arm, when Draco revealed his I was like "tada"! I love being 18, a Potter fan and not needing to act grown up all the time.)
I was unbelievably disappointed by the movie. It was the worst representation of the books thus far.
Plus, the unnecessary addition of the Death Eaters attacking the Burrow and the lack of memories?
I was extremely upset last night.
YES I loved Draco too! He was so amazing. Although Bellatrix creeps me out and I was a wee bit disappointed, I felt the same way about the cave scene! Overall I loved it. My favorite scenes were all things Draco and the lucky potion scene. "And the pincers..." oh, Harry. You have such sensitivity.
"Tom Felton. BLEW ME AWAY. Good lord. I finally felt for Draco just by his facial expressions."
Michelle, I know whatcha mean! Exactly!!
I agree. It was great.
I am now officially in love with Draco Malfoy. He made me sad in this movie. I wanted to hug him.
Tom Feltons acting skills have really gotten better.
In fact, I think most of the cast members skills have.
I really need to see it again, though.
And now I want Jamba Juice.
Kristina, you are awesome.
Dude. OMG. My heart went out to Draco in the film. Seriously. I'm not gonna go as far as saying I like him, but i wanted to reach in and hug when he was crying in front of dumbledore.
I LOVED THE MOVIE TOO!!!
it was awesome! all of my friends were like 'meh it was bad' but what can you expect? it can't be like the book perfectly and what they did was amazing and i didn't think it'd be that good.
my favorite part was when harry was talking to slughorn before he went to hagrid's. very funny
I spent a chunk of the movie watching Draco and sort of imagining the whole thing as a story about Draco and him going through seven years and everything that happened and then somehow him being the one that saves the world from Voldemort. I am still not sure how it would work, but the idea fascinated me. I loved Draco in this movie so very much. ^__^
I loved the "You're the Doctor, aren't you?" too.
<3! But don't you think Malfoy's outfit was weird? He had a Matrix-esque suit on the whole time, even when he was in the hostpital wing! :D
I really loved the scene when Bellatrix and Greyback chased them around the field and then blew up the Burrow. It looked so good!
