Ha, Ha, Ha, Clunk!

Today has been a weird day. I had ordeals at the Paris CDG airport, but I don't even care to write about them because they just involve annoying things like train tickets being invalid, possibly getting ripped off by a fruit vendor, thinking I was going to miss my flight and later the mean flight staff making me show them my boarding pass 3 different times in a matter of 5 minutes while I boarded the plane, and while I assure you these are all riveting and blog-worthy stories, I am just too tired to care. Enter generic "travel woe" experiences here.

As much as I enjoyed a week away from all the things I had let get me down for the last month had a really great mental vacation, I am feeling ready to go home. I feel like I never stop moving and lugging around suitcases and distracting myself. Rome and Paris were great, and it was wonderful to spend the time with Eia. I enjoyed nearly every bit of it.
Now I am back in London and it's weird, because what I have tried so hard to forget this last week is right in front of me. I'm staying at a hotel with Johnny and Charlie and.. Alex. He's being really nice, but I still don't really know how to feel around him, and it's emotionally draining.
I had my own room, though, thank goodness.

I have just stopped writing this blog post to have a long overdue skype chat with the one and only HayleyGHoover. I will resume typing blog like things in the morning.

It's morning! I had a really strange dream that I was back at SITC and Liam and various other people were going on this strange ride and had an extra spot so they invited me along. I did, and in the end it was this big huge obstacle course where you had to navigate your way to the "elephant room" at the top without getting hit by any of the roaming laser beams, in which case you die. I think this dream was a product of reading the Hunger Games all day yesterday. xD

I finished the book in the evening when the boys went to the grocery store, and now all I can think of is getting my hands on the sequel. I haven't had this sort of "inhale the book as fast as you can" experience since I first read the initial three Twilight books, and before that it wasn't since Harry Potter. Finding books like this is my favorite experience in the world. Alex and I had a chat actually about what makes a book so GRIPPING like this but it's hard to say. With the Hunger Games, it's perfectly executed suspense, but that's not the case with the other two.

I can't even remember what I was going to blog about last night, but basically there are 8 more days of this trip ahead of me and I am yet again exhausted. I'm staying in Camden right now, which is fun, but I have to cart all my luggage around with me so that puts a bit of a damper on poking around in shops and things while I wait for the boys to be done filming with Hat Trick.

I can't wait to go back to Dublin on Wednesday for more ApartmentRed filming, but right now the idea of boarding another flight sounds honestly terrible. xD

Okay. I have just found out check out time for this hotel is one hour earlier than I anticipated, so that's fun. Um. Maybe I should go shower or something.

This is the most boring blog post I have ever written. I'm not sure how to spice it up.

Here you go, here is a cheesy joke I found by typing "jokes" into google and clicking the first link, which is a Yahoo! Kids site. Don't expect much.

Q -What goes "Ha, ha, ha, clunk"?

A -People laughing their heads off!

Sigh. This is my life. Reading cheesy popsicle stick jokes alone in a hotel room at ten in the morning.

Days until I leave: 8

I cannot begin to tell you how much I admire you..... seriously!

I know that it is hard but to even be staying in that hotel in the first place is so brave to me, the fact that you have stuck the trip out is something to be proud of and I know that London will be at a loss without you! I live in London and having you here is the closest I hvae ever been to a fiveawesomegirl :p

Big blog hugs,

Rachael

I appreciate your joke, Kristina. I also know how you feel about so many flights in such a short period of time. When I was traveling about I got so tired of living out of a suitcase and boarding flight after flight in which they showed me how to properly put on a seatbelt and shared the neat trick that I could use my seat pillow as a flotation device in case of a water landing. ugh. thanks, guys. I hope you have a lovely last week!

The lamest joke I ever came across:

Q: Why are elephants big and gray?

A: Because if they were small and white they would be an aspirin!

Something to that extent anyways. Lammeezz. ;P

Flights suck, and airport security is worse, but wasn't it worth the fun you had? It's ok to have a boring blog post once in awhile. Glad to see you holding on around Alex. Can't wait to hear about the last 8 days.

I was going to say that the books are so... addicting I guess, because they're well written, but then I realised that Stephenie Meyer wrote Twilight, so that's not it...

What do you call a cheese that doesn't belong to you?
NACHO CHEESE.

Sorry about that. I know. It's terrible. Anyway, I agree with Rachael, but I hope you have a super fun time anyway, even if you feel a bit uncomfortable.
England's cool factor is immediately upped by you being here :P

Board? Here's a riddle.

1 2 3 4
< > > >
B W B W

Four people are burried up to their necks in sand.
Person 1 faces west while people 2, 3 and 4 face east.
They are all wearing hats.
Persons 1 and 3 wear black hats.
Persons 2 and 4 wear white hats.
Each person only knows the colours of the hats they can see in front of them.
If they want to be freed, they must each shout out the colour of their hat.
If they say anything else, they die all.
If any of them gets it wrong, they all die.

Who shouts out the colour of their hat first and how do they know? :)

I think it's amazing how you are fitting so much into these two months and how you've coped so well. I admire your ability to keep going!
I still need to get hold of a copy of the Hunger Games but it sounds awesome, I think the sequel is out over here because I saw it in Waterstones when I was looking for the first one and the DIDN'T have it...

Captcha is "braim"... poor baby zombie hasn't developed it's speech before getting turned!

I love reading your blogs, and I would love to go travelling one day, even if I have to endure the *shudder* airports :P
I really want to read the Hunger Games too, but I haven't found any book shops that sell it :[
Have an amazing last 8 days, and I hope you get to Antarctica xD

KRISTINA your new video was amazing!!! I looved it so much, it was the perfect ending to an awesome day_ I started my senior year in highschool today, and it kinda rocked!
It wasn't s bad blog post, and here's why: we had a clear time line. It was like, part one: night. Part two: gives up on blog post. Part three: morning. The joke was lame, but at least it made for an interesting title!!

About the books... I think that it's either: Really good writing and plot, like the hunger games; a really simple, entertaining, young and fantasy story, like twilight; or, like harry potter: BOTH!, amazing writing and amazing story. Also, I usually relate a lot to books that feel personal to me. Have you ever read Isabel Allende? YOU HAVE TO she rocks! Put her in your authors-who's-books-i-have-to-read list.
I LOVE YOU KRISTINAA you're awesome, never stop blogging!

Don't know if this makes a difference to you but I bet you'd have been tired of the flights and feeling homesick anyway regardless of the breakup horror. That's a long trip and a lot of flights, I know I'd be completely gassed by now if it were me. I agree with you about the Collins books (Catching Fire is also great) and of course Potter but Twilight never had much impact on me. Just lucky I guess, since it means my expectations were already pretty low by the time the last book came out.

I laughed at that joke just because I pictured your face while posting it.

You're cool. Keep it up.

My most favorite joke:

How do you make Lady Gaga cry?

Poke her face!!

Jade said...

i think what makes the three books so gripping, is that you can imagine all of them happening to you. Like HP you obviously know it's fiction...but it could still happen. It's not that far out of reach. Twilight is just amazing and you want your life to be like Bella's-most of the time. And The Hunger Games could happen if the world keeps turning the way it is. Plus, reading The Hunger Games is like reading a manual on what to do when the world turns to crap, and how to survive. So obviously you want to keep reading it!

I've been reading your blog for a long time, but I've never left a comment. I just wanted to let you know that, even though I don't know you personally, I'm proud of you. I know what horrible break ups are like. I went through the worst break up nearly three years ago, and I am still healing from it. You have really inspired me by keeping on despite the breakup and little problems with your trip. You really are awesome.

Alex Dahlberry said...

Hhaah "people laughing their heads off" that's so horrible that it's funny.
I didn't find this blog boring.
1. I admire you so much for all your courage about this whole Alex thing
2. I know what you mean about being able to devour books like that, and I totally agree. Hunger Games, Twilight, and Harry Potter. I think those are the only three series that have made me go crazy and read and obsess. I can't think of any others besides, maybe the Gemma Doyle trilogy.

Eight more days. Try to enjoy them as much as possible, yes? :P

Wow. I would never be able to stay in the same area as such a recent ex, let alone a hotel room. You're so brave, Kristina.

Have a great rest of the time in London!

Way to go staying in that hotel. I'm sure its extremely difficult and emotionally draining but this trip was an experience of a lifetime for you and you tried to enjoy it as much as you could.

The Hunger Games is amazing and your right it's the suspense that keeps you going. I just could NOT stop with that book. Catching Fire was the same. I hope you love it =)

Well 10 points for trying at least.

Just kidding! I love your blog and your joke. I'm sorry that you're having a hard time again with both traveling and boys. The latter are so much more trouble than they're worth.

Have fun in Dublin! Also, I enjoyed your 5AG video this week! It made my monday.

Mission complete! I have now been sneaky and read your blog while in class, while at home with homework lying next to my laptop nagging me, and ignoring awesome youtube vids to catch up. Yay me! And yay you! I love your writing, and you make me giggle a lot. You're a really weird person, but that's ok! I am too:)

Like you said yourself; your life has been a rollercoaster, and I'm grateful that you use blogging as a venting-out-equipment. Even though you say it's more for yourself than anyone else, it's both great and weird to know so much about you, and the things you say feel so close yet so distant. If that makes sense:) (Oh that's just awesome! I googled "sence definition" because I knew it looked weird, and then I get this: Common misspelling of sense. Oh Google, how I love thee.)

This is just a way-too-long comment cus I've been reading this whole thing and never left one yet. I don't know how all this works! Am I weird if I comment a blogentry that was posted a year ago? Ah well! I'm usually just a spectator when it comes to youtube and blogging.

I'll wrap it up there! Sorry for blabbering! I just think you're the awesomest (YES! I bent awesome.), and people should be grateful to know you:)

Hugs,
Kari Kristine

So I come back to your blog every couple of days to see if you've made any new posts (I know about RSS, but... I just don't like it. I don't know why.) and since there hasn't been a new one in a couple days, these last few times I've seen the cheesy joke punch-line up at the top. I've laughed every time.

Popsicle jokes at 10am? It could be a lot worse, like writing introspective blogs at 4.30am as I have been.

My favourite joke right now is ia knock-knock joke
"Knock-knock"
"Who's there?"
"You know"
"You know who?"
"Yes! Adva kadavra!"

Hehe, anyway you seem like you know what you want and where you are going so things should be fine.

As a parting gift (or curse depending on if I should have shut up already or not, but as its 4.30am I will ramble and be proud of it) I offer the Bard's words as the best advice about life and the difficult times we sometimes face in it:
To thine own self be true.

Peace and hugs,
Chris

I miss the feeling I got the first time I read the Twilight books! That can't-put-it-down need-to-know-what-happens feeling. That is what I look for in a book! I remember the first time I read the scene in New Moon where Bella is racing across the open courtyard and she doesn't know if she'll make it to Edward in time. My heart was pounding!

That joke is fantastic... I am now going to proceed to tell it to all my friends... Here's one that I love:

What do you get when you cross Darth Vader with an elephant?
(I know the suspense is painful.)
An ELEVADER!
... xD Your blog (and Hayley's) always seem to make me feel something even if I'm feeling blank and numb. Thank you. Have fun back in Dublin!

Hey so I just wanted to say that I recently started watching the BBC channel and found that reruns of Doctor Who were on. I remembered you mentioning it in your blog so I decided to watch it. So far really like it!

even if you think that blog was boring, i think its really cool that you still wrote it. I myself am a fail at writing diaries o blogs or whatever...

And i know how you feel about the constant traveling, i think. When i was in america we were basically on the go the whole time, and even though it was one of the best holidays ever, i still kind of wanted it to be over, just so i could have a rest.

I LOVE the Hunger Games! And Catching Fire is amazing. Why can't the next one be out like, now?? oh well.
:D XX

I admire you so much, you're so strong. It's so awesome that you can stay strong even though you just want to go home. Hugs!

Found this awesome FML a while ago, thought I'd share it with you cause I think you'd enjoy it.

"Today, I went out with my family and boyfriend for dinner. We were all having a good time, and suddenly at the end of dinner he decides to kneel down on one knee, take out an engagement ring, and say "I choose you, Pikachu," with a straight face. He was serious. FML."

I laughed for five minutes straight after reading that. Seriously.

In 2nd grade, I did unintentionally lame jokes at the talent show, and the Ha ha ha clunk one was my ending joke.

I was so proud.

I think you're a really strong person, Kristina. You've coped with everything so well, and I think that's really admirable. :)

Also, I know what you mean about books like Harry Potter, Twilight, and The Hunger Games. I love reading and I read a wide variety of books, but those particular novels are the only ones that I truly can't stop reading, besides perhaps John Green's books or Scott Westerfeld's Uglies trilogy.

Anyway, I hope that you enjoy your last eight days in London. <3
