Glitter, Muse and sleep-texting.

"I want your love and
I want your revenge
You and me could write a bad romance
I want your love and
All your lovers' revenge
You and me could write a bad romance."
-Lady GaGa, "Bad Romance"

I'd like to welcome you all to another installment of "I should be working on NaNoWriMo but instead, here I am! Writing a blog post! Doing cartwheels! Actually that's not true because I am, in fact, incapable of doing cartwheels! Yes!"

However, I have already written 1,300 words this morning, and at only 9 AM, I am feeling secure in my decision to stop nano-ing to write something else. So here I am.
My goal for tonight is 30,000 words, but that puts me at needing to write 3,700 more, so we will see how that goes.

I talk about this too much. I'm not apologizing, just acknowledging it. When it's all you're thinking about for an entire month, I suppose it makes sense that my blog is just littered with talk of word count and writing strategies and gameplans.

However! I do have other things I want to discuss today! Here they are!

The winner of Top Model. I wont say who, in case people haven't watched it yet, but I was pleased. I also enjoyed the extremely gratuitous glitter-covered runway show. Although that one awkward moment when all the sparkly contestants were rubbing each other as the water fell down on the catwalk was a bit much.
I don't know how the public would feel about this, but I have always wanted to audition for America's Next Top Model. I love love love the photo shoots, the fact that they go to another country each cycle, and not to mention all my proportions are right and everything. However, at this point in my life, I would probably just be pegged as "that YouTube girl" which would be annoying, and also, I would be the girl (there's always one) who gets called out for not knowing a thing about fashion designers. Also, I can't walk in heels. But besides that, I think it would be awesome.

That's assuming I would get picked. It's doubtful. They did an open call in Seattle once but I didn't make it there in time, which I took as a sign that reality television is not my calling.

Other exciting news - I got an email yesterday in the middle of my "feeling sorry for myself and my aching uterus" afternoon, from a fan who remembered that I love the band Muse and really, really, really want to see them live. This person was informing me that Muse is playing Deck the Hall Ball here in Seattle in TWENTY FIVE days and did I know this?
NO I DIDN'T KNOW THIS.
So I immediately called Liz, whom I had woken up from a nap, and she freaked out too, and then we realized it was sold out, and then we panicked, and then we checked eBay, and 20 minutes and a fair amount of money later, we had tickets to see one of our very favorite bands play live for the first time for both of us. Yessssss.
I still had cramps at this point, but cramps are a lot easier to take when you're the owner of a ticket to see Muse next month.

I spent the rest of the evening feeling apathetic about writing, and moaned and complained downstairs on the living room couch. My roommate Justin tried to cheer me up by showing me the new Lady GaGa video, which I hadn't seen yet. I, in fact, had never even seen what Lady GaGa looked like until Gossip Girl this week. Like the rest of the world, I'd heard 'Poker Face' a million times but never gave Lady GaGa much of a passing thought. Now I am super intruiged by what a ridiculously strange person she is and will probably have to get the rest of her music to see what I've been missing. I don't even really know what people actually think of her, though I'm aware that most of the world is way ahead of me here on my interest.

Anyway, it's the weirdest freaking music video I have seen in a long time, but I really, really love it. You should watch it, if you haven't.

I'm sleepy. Last night I fell asleep at 11 PM, and sometime after that got a text message from Luke asking if I was awake, to which I am pretty sure I sleep-texted him back saying yes (I have no idea how), because I was woken up by a phone call around 2 that led to me staying up waaay later than I meant to, again. xD

Word Count: 26,329

I should try doing my NaNoing in the morningtimes because I'd probably get a lot more written that way. I'm impressed with you writing 1'300 words before 9am. When I finished writing last night I was a little above the required word count, so I want to stay above the 1'667 words a day if I can. Did I say that already yesterday? o.0

Happy writing!

A little tip for NaNo is... sleep!
Seriously, I slept really well between Monday and Tuesday this week, since Tuesday was my birthday, and that day I wrote just over 3000 words. Which is kind of much for me. So, sleep well and find long periods of time when you don't HAVE to do anything else (I'm not saying you should be completely free from other tasks, they just shouldn't be immediate) and just sit down and write, preferably in someplace empty, fairly cool (as in cold, not awesome, though awesome does help too) and most of all: be alone.
Oh. And don't sit in a bed. It makes drifting off to sleep with a computer in your lap so much more tempting.
Good luck!

I think you would be awesome on ANTM! If you do ever decide to audition, I fully support you. Seriously. XD
And I agree. The girl who won was my favorite from the beginning, which never happens for me. Usually they kick my favorite off by the third episode.
Aaaand speaking of Lady Gaga, her music is actually pretty good, really. The lyrics are very nice and yes, she is strange, but in a good way. Most of the time.
Hope your cramps go away. If they haven't already, ibuprofen does wonders! Just saying...

P.S. Now I'm desperately trying to keep up with you on NaNoWriMo. And I used to be over 10,000 words ahead of you.
So be proud of how well you're doing.

Sleep texting is a dangerous thing. Warn your friends.

Enjoy Muse. Can't wait to hear what you think of them live.

Audition for ANTM! It would be awesome if you just tried, I think you could get through!
Also: Lady GaGa is awesome.. Awesomely weird, but awesome nevertheless..
And: Jealous of the Muse-concert! :O

You should totally audition for ANTM! Actually, the first time I watched one of your videos, that's the first thing that crossed my mind...that you should audition for that show! Don't feel bad about not knowing designers...I'm from Seattle, but have lived right outside NYC for the last six years and I still have no clue about most of them! haha

Yay for Muse and Yay for Gaga.

She certainley is a few fries short of a happy meal that one, but if that means she makes brilliant music like she does then i say excellent in a monty burns voice.

Don't give up! I was also behind on NaNo and my goal for tonight is 30,000 words as well, but so far I have written 4,191 words in one day! Phew!

I was so happy about the ANTM winner too - never before has my favorite actually won.

And you should definitely audition! Modeling, traveling, winning things - all your favorites!

I hate to admit this, but I never really knew of Muse until Twilight. *Hides face in shame* They really are great though, so I'm rather upset with myself for not knowing of it before, especially since I had to find out about it from a movie soundtrack and it is so painfully obvious how late I am.

Anyway, I hope you feel better and can get those creative juices flowing! And I hope my hearts and Starbursts helped on Dailybooth. :]

You think the "Bad Romance" video is weird, take a look at "Paparazzi"!

That is a pretty crazy video. I really love her music though and I too am intrigued by her. I really want to meet her. Did you know that she designs and makes most of her outfits? Even the ones for the music videos. That is so awesome!

If you haven't already, you should look up her VMA performance. It was pretty wicked. Instead of actually watching the VMAs I just YouTubed the interesting parts that people were tweeting about. Since she was very obviously the trending topic I decided to look it up. Wow. There are now words. Except to say that there are no words.

A few days later they decided to replay the VMAs at the same time that I just so happened to be in the dining hall for breakfast which just so happened to be showing it. Since I already knew what was coming I delighted in watching my fellow classmate's reactions. People literally stopped mid-bite or left their plates to stand around the television and watch. It was very fun to see.

Congrats on the MUSE tickets, I was fortunate enough to grab a set as well so I will be attending Deck the Hall ball as well, however I am particularly happy that I get to see phoenix whom is also playing at Deck the Hall Ball. On a different note, if people didn't get tickets to the concert and are in the seattle area their is a chance you can win them, from 107.7 the end(radio station hosting Deck the Hall Ball)

On a seperate note, Lady Gaga is apparently a few odd women, her music video for paparazzi was apparently voted creepiest music video in a recent poll. While I don't beleive it should have beat Slipknot's Wait and Bleed video(which is also on the list), it kinda goes to show just how wierd she is.

anyways good look all NaNoWrImO writers, it sure looks like a challenge perhaps I will do it next year.

I only seen parts of "Bad Romance" video clip. Cool song (it's on my MySpace page as the song). Have you heard "Chllin'" by Wale feat. Lady GaGa? Good song as well, even though Lady GaGa as the chorus, singing part in it.

I heard but not listen to Muse before Twilight. I only listen to "Supermassive Black Hole" which, in fact, I think, written pre Twilight, long before it.

I should stop procrastinating with NaNoWriMo. I need to be more motivated.

I LOVE America's Next Top Model! It's my guilty pleasure, one of those shows my family would mock me for watching, but I love anyways :) It's just so creative and interesting!

I was so happy with the winner too, about halfway through she really started to shine and I was a huge fan from then on. I loved seeing her transformation - seeing her come out of her shell! Yay!
