Why I haven't been blogging.

I like to be very public about my life. Not that I feed off the attention or need to validate the things I do by posting them online, but just because I enjoy it. I like sharing my experiences with others, documenting the good times I have to look back on later, and also being part of a larger discussion online about what's fun and new and exiting and happening in our community of web people.

But sometimes, like everyone, I have things going on in my life that are healthier to not talk about. I learned my lesson that summer in London; that being too candid with your problems and your thoughts and feelings and emotions when things are hard or heavy isn't always the best way to deal with yourself when you're down.

It's hard for a vlogger, or a blogger, or a tweeter, or a facebooker - because it can sometimes come down to either pretending or lying in your updates, or not updating at all. Neither of those are fun solutions.

Anyway, that's where I'm at. I have a couple posts I want to do on here about other things, like a Buffy survey I snatched from Becky a few months ago, and my thoughts on the game Tetris - easy things, simple things. But I'm apologizing right now for a lack of updates for a little while.

Nice to see you blogging again! Even if it is to tell us your not blogging. I was there for the whole thing last year and I can see why you wouldn't want to go through that again. You're totally entitled to your privacy and I hope people will respect that. I know I do. Having said that, I'm sorry that you're going through something painful and I hope it gets better soon. It's always hard to be hurting. I'm looking forward to the Buffy survey though! I just finished watching Buffy for the first time too and have been dying to hear about it from someone. No one I know has watched it. They're totally missing out!

I respect your decision to keep some things private. It is your life after all. Good luck in dealing with whatever is going on.

It's all good, Kristina. I hope you know that we're all behind you even if we don't know what's going on-- and I can definitely support the sentiment that some things are definitely better when they remain off-line.

Deal with whatever you need to deal with, and we'll still be here when it's all sorted out, for better or for worse. :)

I completely understand your need for privacy, and I hope that whatever is going on resolves itself soon. And I really hope that it isn't anything as awful as your experience in London.

it's always sad when you can't be best friends with everyone. sad at the end of the day you have to choose a smaller knit group.

Go be private with your life!

Much love <3

I completely understand that feeling. You do what you need to do for yourself. After all it is your life and your blog readers are only along for the ride. We'll just pretend we're getting too sick on the Tilt o Whurl and leave you to ride it out in peace.
End terrible amusement park analogy.

Deal with your life exactly how you want to. That's why it's your life. Sometimes people just need some private or alone time. I've been there and I know it can be a struggle to decide between feigning happiness and saying nothing. When you're feeling like sharing again I'll be here excited to read it. Especially if it has to do with Buffy! =)

I'm sad to hear that you're going through a hard time right now :( I fully understand your need for privacy when it comes to certain aspects of your life. I really respect that. Whatever is going on right now, I know you'll come through it just as you did in the Summer of 2009. There's nothing a complete stranger like myself can say to you that'll make everything seem a lot better, but just know that every single person who reads your blog, follows your Twitter or watches your Youtube videos (me = full house haha!), is thinking about you and sending happiness your way! X.

Hang in there. We'll be here ready to laugh, cry, throw tomatoes, and give the standing "O" all at the right moments. :)

Good for you.
We all need privacy. I respect the fact that you admit that, and admit that YOU need privacy. I hope whatever is going on, resolves itself.

I hope everything's okay, and we understand that you can't always blog/tell us EVERYTHING that's going on.

I just hope that all's well with you. Now you've got me all worried.

Just know we'll all still be here, no matter what!
And don't feel bad not sharing things, it's healthy, and we all aren't REALLY your best friends, as much as it feels that way from watching your videos.
I hope everything works out well, and you're happy when it's over! (if that even applies to the situation)

A very good reason. As someone who's dealt with chronic illness and depression in the past, I couldn't relate more to the paragraph about deciding whether to pretend everything is ok, or just say nothing. Especially when people care and subsequently worry.

So, best wishes in the private matters. I hope you come out the other end of the tunnel into warm sunlight.
